Lombardi founder wins Pollicione d'Oro
Claudio Lombardi, founder of Lombardi Converting Machinery, has been awarded the Pollicione d'Oro prize for his advanced research, and work in the field of label and converting printing machinery.

The Pollicione d'Oro award is intended to encourage research in the printing industry and to be an example for graphic design school students. A jury composed of entrepreneurs, lecturers and journalists awards the Pollicione d'Oro prize yearly, with Lombardi's work to design updated narrow web flexo machines to meet the ever-changing demands of the converting world said to be their reasoning for naming Claudio Lombardi as this year’s recipient. 2017 marks the 25th year it has been awarded.
Claudio Lombardi began his activity producing label and tag cutters, thousands of which have been installed around the world. His company then began to design and produce narrow web flexo machines.
Supported by his three sons, Lorenzo and Massimo (sales Directors) and Nicola (marketing manager), Claudio Lombardi has invested in R&D in the field of electronics and software applied to flexo printing, which has enhanced the Italian company’s international standing.
