Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising launched in London

A museum dedicated to the marketing industry will open its doors to the public in December. Located in Notting Hill, London, the museum will feature over 10,000 consumer products and promotional items that document the progress of the branding, packaging and advertising industries.
More than 200 years of consumerism are reflected through packaging design, brand development, poster and TV advertising, displayed in the context of their particular era with examples of innovations, magazines, fashions, design and popular culture. Open to the general public, it is set to be an essential research tool and showcase facility for the marketing industry.
The museum will be the UK's only venue dedicated to these industries's commercial and retail heritage. Evolving displays will include 'brand of the month' and 'latest brands from around the world'. The venue will also be available for seminars, events and educational purposes.
The Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising is a registered charity, set up and supported by pi global. Over the last four years relationships have been built with major brand owners and industry leaders to create the museum. Major sponsors Kellogg's, Cadbury Trebor Basset and Twinings are supporting the museum, recognizing the opportunity for the industry to tell its own story.
Museum director Robert Opie said, ‘Our research shows that everyone from brand owners, marketeers, creatives and students will find the museum a valuable resource, making it a focal point for ideas and inspiration’.
