Avery Dennison launches flexible high-speed labeling system

Avery Dennison’s Printer Systems Division, a provider of auto-id solutions, thermo-transfer printing, RFID and labeling, has introduced a new labeling system.
The ALS 306 is the first product to be launched as part of Avery Dennison’s new range of modular labelers. This adjustable and robust system allows for high speed, flexible integration and can handle wide labels – which makes it suited to demanding industrial applications.
The ALS 306 labeling system’s main feature lies in its modular concept. The unwind-module can be mounted in different positions and the independent mounted rewind-module and dispenser-module can be easily removed if necessary.
This concept makes the modular ALS 306 flexible and easy to integrate into any production line. The machine can be mounted horizontally or vertically – depending on the customer’s application and requirement. Standard and challenging applications including top, side and bottom labeling can be flawlessly handled by the new ALS 306.
The ALS 306 can be effortlessly serviced and maintained due to its easily exchangeable modules. In addition to the conventional method – removing the back part of the body cover – the dispensing module (AUM) and power rewind module (PUR) can be easily pulled out and replaced in the housing. Again, this results in less downtime for the customer.
The newly introduced push-pull web-transport system is said to guarantee constant high web tension, allowing high apply-accuracy at high speed. The ALS 306 can manage apply-speeds of up to 60 meters per minute and labels up to 6”/156 mm are no problem for the labeler.
The ALS 306 offers a high degree of connectivity with its multiple interfaces arranged at the back of the device. The CompactFlash card slot enables several aligned production lines to work with the same settings. Standard connectivity includes a serial port, ethernet and USB connection.
The new ALS 306 is available now and a further member of this product family, the ALS 309, the modular labeler for 9” labels, will be available shortly.
