Convertec has released the TriX printing head for digital tactile triangles.

As described in the EN ISO 11683:1997, packaging containing certain dangerous substances should be marked with tactile triangles.

The specifications also describe the size, type of and position of the isosceles (equal leg length) tactile symbols, which could be standardized normal size 18 mm leg, the reduced size nine mm leg or be made out of three dots when a triangle cannot be placed.

‘We have looked forward to this technology leap for a longer time, as we earlier only could make the smaller nine mm version with the existing equipment’ said the company. ‘Furthermore, the new TriX head – specifically designed for this task, make the installation and placement of the triangle extremely easy and simple to operate. The special design of the printing head also allows now for Tactile Triangles to be printed also on booklets in- or offline with high accuractity.’

The head is available as a stand-alone option for the DigiBraille machine or incorporated in the DigiBraille Module, which can be placed in any converting or printing unit.
