Domino launches food packaging compliant inks

Domino Digital Printing Solutions has launched UV95, its new 7-color food packaging compliant UV digital ink set, at Labelexpo Europe 2019. This will be a new ink set option available for use within its N610i digital label press.

Domino releases food packaging compliant inks

‘UV95 sets a new standard for UV digital inks and their use within non-direct food contact applications. I am delighted to be launching this new non-CMR ink set at Labelexpo,’ said Louise Adcock, N-Series product manager.

UV95 has been formulated for many non-direct food packaging applications and, under the right conditions, is migration compliant. UV95 is compliant with EuPIA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), with all materials used listed on the Swiss Ordinance for Food Packaging Inks. UV95 has been developed in line with Nestlé’s guidance on food packaging inks and is fully compliant with the EuPIA exclusion policy.

Most importantly, it is a non-CMR ink set and therefore, subject to migration status, can comply with the European Union plastic materials and articles intended to be in contact with food regulation. In addition to compliance, UV95 does not compromise reliability or other mechanical properties, also providing excellent adhesion properties and abrasion resistance, says the company.

Adcock continued: ‘Domino is one of the few digital inkjet printer manufacturers with the capabilities to design, develop and manufacture their own range of inks. The release of UV95 demonstrates our ability to provide customers with a reliable, robust and compliant ink set.’

At Labelexpo Europe 2019, Domino Digital Printing Solutions will host daily presentations about the Domino N610i reel-to-reel label press and launch UV95 on stand 9A60 at 11:15  and 14:45 on Tuesday, Sept 24, Wednesday, Sept 25 and Thursday, Sept 26 and at 11:15 on Friday, Sept 27.

Other planned demonstrations will include the Domino N610i hybrid digital label press, K600i digital embellishment including digital printing of varnish and digital cold foiling, and the latest K600i high speed monochrome variable data imprinting.
