Domino launches yellow ink for CIJ

Domino Printing Sciences has launched 2YL912, a yellow ink for its A-Series range of continuous inkjet (CIJ) printers.

2YL912 expected to be predominantly useful for personal care, and in the food and beverage segments, where dark labels or glass are being used

The new ink is designed to offer ‘performance and a level of reliability that has previously been unachievable from a yellow ink in the industry as a whole’, and is applicable for a wide range of applications across a variety of sectors. Domino said it remains highly reliable even at elevated temperatures of up to 45 degrees C.

Nick Plaister, product manager for CIJ at Domino, said: ‘Our new ink provides superior performance on a wide range of substrates including HDPE and LDPE.

‘Everyone knows that yellow ink in CIJ can be problematic, but we have used our knowledge and developed this new addition as a simple solution for coding onto dark or black surfaces. We expect it to be predominantly useful for personal care, and food and beverage – where dark labels or glass are being used – as well as some industrial applications.

‘With a 12 month shelf life, and operating in the temperature range 5-45 degrees C, we anticipate excellent feedback from the market, and look forward to rolling this out across Europe over the coming months.’
