Erhardt + Leimer to unveil Nyscan developments at Labelexpo

Erhardt + Leimer will unveil new developments for its Nyscan print image inspection system at Labelexpo Europe in Brussels in September.
The Web:Inspector will provide a barcode module that can read fixed or dynamic barcodes. Dynamic barcodes will be stored on-line and can be checked during or after production. 1D and 2D barcodes can be accepted and some grading of the codes is possible.
The Nyscan Web:Inspector LT is a standalone version for printing press or rewinder. The Web:Inspector LT features a 4000 pixel color camera with a line speed of up to 150m/min. TubeLight is standard so that embossed metalized surfaces and even holograms can be inspected.
Erhardt + Leimer will show the interfacing to the machine counter via the E + L SysCon on a RCS330 on the Gallus stand. The good counter of the press will receive feedback from the Nyscan print image inspection system via network messages.
The new Hazing module was designed to go after very low contrast hazing effects or streaks in web direction. The integrating detection algorithm works down to very small contrast levels. It can reportedly find hazing at high speed which often is difficult to see even on a printed sample. The width of the hazing as well as tolerance settings can be easily adjusted by sliders in the graphical user interface of the Nyscan print inspection system.
Workflow integration, stand-alone PDF-comparison with Image:Inspector, and codeless scheduling will also be demonstrated at the show.
