Kammann introduces UV glass ink printer

Kammann Machines, has announced the addition of the SD6000 to its decorating screen printing line. The SD6000 is a UV glass ink printer that supports brilliant decoration with up to six colors for use on cylindrical and slightly conical shapes.
The company hopes that the SD6000's support of ultraviolet curable ink with superior adhesion capabilities will play a major role in a new initiative aimed at positively impacting the sustainability of the packaging industry. The Hartness-Inks initiative, of which Kammann has become a supporting development partner, is a multi-company solution that unites packaging expertise with new proprietary ink technology for use on a variety of bottles and containers.
‘The SD6000 is a key part of the sustainable solution being offered by the Hartness-Inks project,’ said Steve Gilbertson, president of Kammann Machines. ‘The UV-based inks are ecologically friendly, and the process eliminates waste generated by traditional pressure-sensitive labeling methods. This process must also support the customer demand for brightly defined colors and images, including metallics. The SD6000 provides this capability, along with superior adhesion.’
