Lake Image Systems unveils new inspection products

Lake Image Systems, a supplier of vision control and verification systems, has launched its Discovery suite of products. The new range is comprised of three key products: Discovery Multiscan, the latest release of the original IntegraVision system; DiscoveryPQ, a print inspection system; and Discovery Enterprise, a server-based database engine.

DiscoveryPQ features a separate high resolution screen for web viewing, and defect roll mapping for physical correction at a later point in the production process. In addition, DiscoveryPQ uses ‘golden template’ inspection techniques, comparing each print element to an ideal image. The product is primarily aimed at commercial printers and label manufacturers requiring consistent repeatability, e.g. for pharmaceutical, medical, and food packaging. The system uses high-resolution linescan camera technology to image 100 percent of the print produced, at speeds in excess of 1,000 feet per minute.
