Lake Image Systems, a manufacturer of vision control and verification systems, will introduce its Discovery Revolution inspection system at Labelexpo Americas on stand 5670.

Discovery Revolution incorporates the print quality inspection features of the company’s DiscoveryPQ system and the data integrity features of the Discovery Multiscan. It is suited to web press and rewinder applications requiring documented print quality and data integrity accuracy.

Lake Image Systems vice president Pat Hoskins commented: ‘Discovery Revolution melds our two most popular and powerful inspection concepts into a single powerful product. This new inspection system immediately and automatically identifies print defects such as streaks, voids, blemishes, hickeys, ink or toner deterioration, color variation, and broken or missing characters. Operators are immediately notified of defective print, and user-defined tolerances reduce false alarms. Defective images are displayed for detailed operator inspection, and Discovery roll map reporting displays the location and defect at all positions, so that quality personnel can make defect acceptance decisions prior to rewinding and finishing. The system is available in both color and black and white versions, and ANSI/ISO barcode and two-dimensional code inspection and reporting are available as options.
