Madico partners with Roland DG at Ipex to show labelstocks

Madico Graphic Films, a UK-based supplier of pressure sensitive coated film products for durable label applications, will showcase a variety of label substrates in conjunction with Roland DG at Ipex on stand 12, C140.
Roland will demonstrate several label Madico products on its new VersaUV LEC-330 inkjet printer/cutter, which allows short-run label printing onto a wide range of substrates.
Madico’s UV printable labelstocks to be demonstrated on Roland’s LEC-330 include Premium White Polyester and Premium Mirror Silver Polyester, respectively a 50μ gloss white and 50μ bright silver print receptive polyester. Both Madico’s gloss white and bright silver polyester labelstocks are claimed to offer excellent dimensional stability combined with good solvent, humidity, elevated temperature and UV resistance, while their print receptive coatings are specifically designed to ensure good adhesion of UV cured inks. The products are coated with a high performance acrylic adhesive which exhibits excellent adhesion on a broad range of surfaces, combined with very good chemical and elevated temperature shear resistance. Each is compatible with low-surface energy plastics, making the substrates suited to printed graphics, automotive decals and resin dome emblems.
Also on display will be the Clinglok thermal transfer-printable matt white cling polypropylene film, developed for applications where the ability of the label to adhere only to itself is required. Thanks to a unique coating, which exhibits ‘excellent’ permanent adhesion when applied to itself, Clinglok is suited to use where dirt attraction around the label edges, commonly associated with conventional self-adhesive labelstock, is to be avoided. Clinglok is said to offer important benefits to cosmetics, jewelry and eyewear applications – such as back-to-back loop labels – as well as promotional and information labels. It can also be applied to glass, when clean removability and repositionability is required. Clinglok offers good chemical, humidity and abrasion resistance and is designed to accept conventional inks and variable information via thermal transfer.
Roland will also demonstrate Madico’s UV inkjet-printable scratch-resistant gloss ultra-clear polyester. Enabling the ‘no-label look’, this 50μ gloss topcoated scratch-resistant labelstock offers excellent optical clarity and dimensional stability, combined with good solvent, humidity, elevated temperature and five-year 99 percent UV blocking performance. The product’s topcoat is designed to ensure excellent ink adhesion combined with superior scratch resistance of non-printed areas, making it suited to printing clear labels and decals for use in a range of industry sectors.
‘We are delighted to be teaming with Madico at Ipex and to offer visitors an up-close look at the versatile attributes and creative potential of some of their most important UV printable labelstocks,’ said Steve Chappell, UK business development manager at Roland DG. ‘A visit to our stand at Ipex would be a wise move for any printer seeking out niche substrates to increase their competitive edge, improve their service offering to customers, or gain access to new market areas.’
