Mark Andy changes die cut direction

Mark Andy has demonstrated for the first time its QCDC (quick change die-cut) unit on a Performance P7 press at Labelexpo Americas 2012. The company has effectively rotated the die station through 90 degrees, so dies are now loaded from the side of the press rather than lifted in from the top.  The matrix web path has also been simplified, allowing stripping of even complex jobs at higher press speeds.

Available in a single- or dual-die station configuration, the QCDC allows for dies to be loaded, automatically registered with servo technology, and quickly run up to full production speeds. Die exchange is facilitated by a quick change cart, specifically designed for the Performance Series platform. The station’s design allows for accurate loading of dies either offline during job changeover on a single die station, or in a second station while the press is running a job.

The company also announced its digital print option for very low volume jobs with the launch of the SRL 4.0 digital printer based on OKI toner technology.

The 4-color press accommodates eight and a half inch to 12.6 inch web widths and can print on a variety of qualified materials with no pre-coated substrate requirements. It delivers 600 x 1200 dpi images with variable data and comes equipped with server and software system. Offline  die-cutting and laminating options are offered. The press will be available in 2013 in the US market.
