Metsä Board adds to Modo Northern Light range

Metsä Board has added to its Modo Northern Light range with two new double-coated, fully bleached liners.

The new liners are suitable for food packaging, including take-away foods, and other sensitive products such as beautycare and pharmaceuticals

Modo Northern Light Litho is specially developed for litho-lamination and is also suitable for other offset applications, while Modo Northern Light Flexo is recommended for flexo pre-print.

The new liners are suitable for food packaging, including take-away foods, and other sensitive products such as beautycare and pharmaceuticals due to their use of pure fresh forest fibres.

The substrate supplier said are both suited for microflute applications, and provide ‘new options in traditional corrugated applications’.

Risto Auero, vice-president of linerboard sales at Metsä Board, said: ‘The new coated Modo Northern Light grades are a welcome addition to our lightweight linerboard portfolio offering excellent printability.

‘It is possible to create a very light but strong corrugated structure by using both coated and uncoated Modo Northern Light in various combinations of top and reverse side liner, and the uncoated grade as fluting.’
