NiceLabel launches first public cloud label management system

NiceLabel has launched Label Cloud, claimed as the world’s first public cloud label management system.

Label Cloud is a public cloud label management system designed to ‘modernize the labeling process’

Label Cloud is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) option built on the NiceLabel label management system. It allows users to centrally manage label design, product data and quality control, with branches, suppliers and partners able to access that information in the cloud and print their own labels locally. Label Cloud requires no installation and is said to be easy to configure and an ROI of less than six months. It is built on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, with APIs to ensure integration with other cloud and on-premise business systems, such as ERP and MES.

Label Cloud has been developed to allow businesses to rapidly digitally transform their factory and warehouse labeling process, identified NiceLabel. It is suited for use in manufacturing labeling, allergens and nutrition labeling, apparel and garment re-ticketing and re-tagging, localised re-labeling and supplier labeling.

The claimed benefits to users include: cost savings, as there is no need for investment in IT infrastructure; ease of use, which means IT is no longer needed for design and deployment of labels; and increased agility and faster time to market. Quality assurance is also digitalized, eliminating manual quality control processes, reducing labour requirements and costs, and minimizing risk and error.

Ken Moir, vice president of marketing at NiceLabel, said: ‘Label Cloud empowers all users to design and deploy labels. Ultimately this means the process is smoother and quicker, which leads to improved agility and faster time to market. In addition, Label Cloud’s document management system streamlines, automates and improves the quality assurance process, removing human error, risk and improving its overall accuracy.’

To coincide with the launch of Label Cloud, NiceLabel has also made significant updates to its current on-premise software portfolio. This includes print productivity improvements and new features that help reduce IT’s support and further streamline the quality assurance process.

Moir concluded: ‘The labeling software market hasn’t changed much in the last decade, but with the launch of Label Cloud, we’re transforming the industry, moving it forward significantly. We’re providing a way to simplify the process, an easy way to scale up and deliver maximum benefit to businesses of all sizes.’
