Sandon to launch new anilox technology at Labelexpo Europe

UK-based anilox roll manufacturer Sandon Global Engraving will launch HOC, the latest addition to its range of products, at Labelexpo Europe in Brussels in Septemeber. HOC anilox roll technology enables label printers to use high opaque color UV flexo printing as an alternative to rotary screen. The HOC technology joins the company’s high opacity white HOW anilox brand for printing screen quality whites using UV flexo, also showing for the first time in Europe.
‘HOC and HOW anilox engraving technology coupled with the right UV flexo inks can bring significant costs savings to label printers,’ said managing director John Millington. ‘There are additional potential savings that would be unique to each location. One significant area of potential cost savings is higher press speeds. With the HOW system for example, the flexo press can operate from 80 to 100 m/min while a rotary screen press typically runs at 40 m/min. Set up times are much less than screen, which dramatically reduces waste and down time.’
Also making a debut at Labelexpo Europe is the company’s HVP high volume process and Ipro high process print anilox roll technology, the latter designed for high print speeds and high line count applications in process printing. Other products on show will include protective covers for sleeves and Voltec volume measuring equipment.
Established in 2004, Sandon Global manufactures laser engraved ceramic coated anilox and gravure rollers for the flexographic printing industry. The company serves an international market and also offers a full engineering service for both repairing rolls and sleeves.
