Screen announces commercial launch of B2 sheet-fed inkjet press

Previewed in 2010 and now commercially developed, the Screen Truepress JetSX will be launched at Drupa in May 2012.

A B2 size variable data sheet fed inkjet press, Screen claims the new model can print four-colors at speeds up to 1,620 sheets/hour on substrates up to 0.6mm thick, making it suitable for package print production on cartonboard. According to the company, a European beta site will be established after Drupa, and interested parties are invited to find out more at the expo.

Screen also sees the packaging industry as an area of increasing opportunity for its PlateRite CtP system. Its open platform can be integrated with any flexo front-end system, in addition to Screen’s Equios workflow and FlexoDot software, and can be used for flexible packaging, folding carton, label and corrugated applications.

Also announced was the opening of Screen Solution Centers in Amsterdam, Chicago, and Tokyo during the course of this year. Each Center will contain a comprehensive range of Screen POD technology that can be seen working as integrated production lines with partner suppliers.

Screen products and services will be in Hall 9 at Drupa 2010.
