Version 6 of Chili publisher to be available in June

Chili publish is gearing up for the release of Version 6 of its popular Chili publisher software package, by announcing the most elaborate features set to date, which will facilitate the online editing user experience and improved speed of production.

Version 6 of Chili publisher to be available in June with smart templates, dynamic layouts and redefined creation of visuals

The new version includes improvements to enhance the user experience, content control, and tune PDF output. It features new selectable reference points for transformations, leading and tracking controls for copy fitting, new cropping mode, custom path editor and new font subsets for PDF output.

One of the major improvements is an introduction of dynamic layouts, which is a new methodology for building flexible, smart templates using a combination of alternate layouts, object anchoring, and a new property formulas option. It introduces a new way of positioning elements on a canvas. Instead of starting from an origin point and using a transformation matrix (x and y coordinates, scale, and rotation) with absolute values in inches, mm, px, or degrees of rotation, dynamic layouts use relative values. These can be relative to canvas size, another element's position, size, rotation, variables, or any data source.

Customers can now create a single template that can accommodate the output of any size while the content can airflow in a pre-planned, intelligent way. Practically, this means any design can be turned into one smart template in Chili publisher. Users can now adjust their own visuals without involving the designer or marketing department.

‘Customers like the American Cancer Society, Airbus, but also a one-man MyCreativeShop, need to create engaging, on-brand content quickly, efficiently and flawlessly. That is what Smart Templates must do. Version 6 does it better. This breakthrough is a real technological masterpiece that makes it possible to create insanely intelligent templates with minimal effort. Just plug in the pixel dimension and out pops a perfectly sized graphic that’s ready to go. Any marketer, brand owner, printer, or user can scale visuals, leverage content creation everywhere and scale the content distribution worldwide,’ said John Arnsdorf, product marketing manager at Chili publish.

The company will roll out Version 6 to all customers and the dynamic layouts feature within Chili publisher Online for subscription customers as of June 15. There are also free preview webinars planned for June 9 and 11.
