Belmark breaks ground on 121m USD expansion
De Pere label manufacturer adds Family Center and 143 jobs in a major investment.
Belmark has broken ground on a new Family Center at its corporate campus in De Pere, Wisconsin, as part of a broader investment of more than 121m USD in equipment, facilities and workforce development, with the project expected to create 143 new full-time jobs.
The Family Center, representing an investment of more than 15m USD and due to open in 2027, will offer childcare, primary medical care, mental health services, physical therapy and fitness resources for employees and their families. The childcare facility, developed in partnership with Encompass, will span approximately 14,000 sqft, with a percentage of places reserved for Belmark employees at a discounted rate and remaining spots open to the public. An on-site health and wellness clinic, developed with Emplify Health by Bellin, will be free of charge for all employees and dependents insured through the company.
Belmark is the first business in Wisconsin to qualify for Business Development Tax Credits for investing in a childcare facility since the incentive program was updated in 2023, and has received up to 2.5m USD in credits from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.
Founded in 1977, Belmark manufactures pressure-sensitive labels, flexible packaging and folding cartons, serving markets including craft beer, pet food, snack food and produce.
'We continue to invest in our business to build a strong future for our employees, their families, and our community,' said Karl Schmidt, chairman of Belmark. 'The Belmark Family Center is another step in creating a workplace that supports the people who make our company successful.'
