Flint appoints president of packaging and narrow web division

Flint Group has appointed Doug Aldred (pictured) as president of packaging and narrow web, Europe and North America, with immediate effect.

In addition to his new role, Aldred will also assume responsibility for the company’s global packaging and narrow web strategy and will report directly to Antoine Fady, chief executive officer.

Aldred joined Flint Ink in 1994 (one of the group of companies that merged to form Flint Group) as a manufacturing manager within Canada and in 1998 was appointed as general manager, sheetfed Europe. With Flint-Schmidt he became global VP for the sheetfed division and in 2005 was appointed as VP for packaging EMEA. In 2009 he became responsible for all sales and business development in packaging and narrow web in EMEA.

Antoine Fady, CEO, said: ‘I am delighted with the appointment of Doug to president of packaging and narrow web, Europe and North America. This is another example of a key appointment being made from within the Flint Group business – which is always pleasing to see. Doug has played a key role in growing the European business in his position as VP for packaging EMEA and was instrumental in the successful acquisitions of Torda and in Russia. Under Doug’s leadership, we have also established an important joint venture in Turkey and an international key account strategy.’
