FTA names new membership committee
Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) has formed a new membership committee with a team of five to spearhead the association’s future membership endeavors. The committee is made up of: Pete Hartman, general manager of Polymount US; Paul Teachout, vice president of sales and marketing at Nilpeter USA; Michele Talko, customer service/pre-press manager at Prairie State Group; Amanda Webster, pre-press production supervisor at CMC Group; and Jeff Dietz, vice president of sales in North and Central America at Apex International.

FTA’s membership committee serves to expand the association by helping to develop programs and benefits that provide added value to FTA’s membership base. Under its new leadership, the membership committee aims to continue its recent surge of new members which, since January of this year, has seen FTA welcome 144 new members (53 suppliers, 34 printer/converters and six consumer product companies, plus 51 students, educators and individuals.)
FTA said the make-up of the new membership committee represents a mix of both industry veterans and newcomers, and consists of printers/converters and suppliers to the flexo industry. Over the years, these members have found great value in being part of FTA, the association said, and their past participation has extended into FTA’s annual events including its Forum, INFO*FLEX and Fall Conference events. Some have held seats on FTA’s board of directors and board of trustees.
Others work for companies who are actively pursuing certification to FTA’s FIRST scheme, with two representing companies that are well on their way to achieving this goal.
Jay Kaible, director of membership and business development at FTA, said: ‘I’m pleased that these five individuals will spearhead the initiatives of the new membership committee. With their experience and willingness to share knowledge, I’m confident that our will be successful.’
