KM Packaging strengthens global position with new business development manager

Food packaging specialist KM Packaging Services has appointed a new business development manager as it looks to capitalize on growth opportunities around the world.

KM Packaging said it has recorded ongoing growth in worldwide demand for its packaging products, such as the Superguard Oven film.

It recently launched KM Velvet Feel, a new premium packaging film targeted at the luxury confectionery and high-end boxed goods markets around the world. It is available as a reverse printed, heat-sealable film laminate for use on form-fill-seal or flow-wrap equipment; alternatively KM Velvet Feel can be laminated to board for suppliers of luxury boxed products such as premium confectionery, and even perfumes and cosmetics.

As a result of a rapid growth in interest of its products, KM Packaging has appointed Keir Davidson as its new business development manager. He joins the company from Velcro Industries, with over six years of experience gained within flexible packaging manufacture and the supply chain.

Davidson worked closely with major packaging machine manufacturers and flexible film producers across Europe during this time, supplying closure systems to a number of food sectors including fresh and frozen produce and confectionery.

His responsibilities at KM Packaging will include a focus on maximizing opportunities in the chilled and convenience food markets, initially in the UK and Europe.

KM Packaging commercial director Graham Holding said: ‘Interest in our products from customers throughout the world has grown so rapidly that we needed to strengthen our commercial team in order to deal effectively with all the opportunities.

‘Keir will be a real asset to the company, bringing fresh thinking as well as significant experience in business-to-business packaging sales.’

Davidson said: ‘Over the past few years I’ve become more and more involved in the packaging industry and have been fascinated by some of the recent technological developments.

‘I was keen to develop my career directly in the sector and working with KM Packaging is a great opportunity to be at the forefront of clever new initiatives in flexible packaging.’
