Maxcess appoints VP for Asia Pacific

Maxcess, a manufacturer of web handling products, has promoted Ron Schmidt to vice president – Asia Pacific. In his new role, Schmidt will be responsible for sales growth throughout Asia, South America and other emerging markets, with additional responsibility for Maxcess factories and offices in Japan, India, Singapore and Brazil.

Formerly vice president of market development, Schmidt has spent 34 years at the company, holding various leadership positions within manufacturing, sales, marketing and corporate development. Schmidt has also actively participated in industry associations. Most recently, he served as president and board trustee of the Converting Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA). Schmidt is a current board member of the Association of Industrial Metalizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL), and chairman of the AIMCAL Web Handling Group and AWEB conference.
