Rototechnik appointed Southern Africa distributor for Stork Prints

The Stork Prints Group has appointed Rototechnik Pty., based in Pinetown, South Africa, as distributor of the company’s direct laser engraving systems in Southern Africa, covering the countries of South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Madagascar.

‘We are delighted to add the Prints Group’s laser engraving technology to our portfolio. The agreement will give the region’s label and packaging converters improved access to one of the most exciting innovations in the graphic arts industry. We will be able to support laser engraving customers with advice, application know how, and all the assistance they need to adopt the technology as smoothly as possible,’ commented Walter Wellinger of Rototechnik.

The Prints Group’s laser engraving technology, whereby relief and nickel non-woven printing formes are imaged in a purely digital manner without film, is developed by Stork Prints Austria, based in Kufstein, Austria.

Rototechnik has enjoyed a partnership with the Stork Prints Group for over 20 years. In 2006, the agency became the region's first company to offer the RotaMesh nickel screen cylinder re-imaging service and dedicated rotary screen printing training facilities. The company also supplies the Prints Group's complete range of RSI (Rotary Screen Integration) units, imaging and drying systems, screen cylinders and spare parts.

Laser engraving systems available from Stork Prints Austria include dedicated narrow-web systems such as the Helios engraver, for flexo, letterpress, dry-offset and RotaMesh rotary screen printing formes, and the RotaLEN, especially for RotaMesh cylinders. Engravers catering for wide web markets like flexible packaging and wallcovering include the Agrios, dedicated for relief printing formes and the Morpheus, for both nickel rotary screens and flexo.
