Sheet- and web-fed manroland operations to partner at Drupa

Manroland web systems GmbH and manroland sheetfed GmbH will showcase a range of printing technologies and services at Drupa 2012, with a large presence in hall 6 featuring both companies.

The web-fed operation of insolvent German printing press manufacturer manroland AG was taken over by Possehl Group in January and officially launched at the start of February as manroland web systems GmbH.

Manroland’s sheet-fed business was restructured through a management buy-out with investment from UK firm Langley Holdings, relaunching as manroland sheetfed systems GmbH. Alfred Rothländer has been appointed to head this new business.

Manroland web systems said the showcase at Drupa 2012 will feature ‘highly productive solutions’ for the industrial web offset production of newspapers, magazines, and advertising material, as well as many innovative products from the Printnet and Printservices divisions.

A large proportion of manroland’s Drupa presence will be centered on newspaper and commercial printing applications, but a key focus will be the dialogue with customers from all over the world.

Peter Kuisle (pictured, top), sales, service, and marketing director at manroland web systems, said: ‘We are listening to our customers. We want to make sure that each customer gets the press that is most economical for his individual demands.

‘We'll further strengthen our leading market position in the business for newspaper and commercial web offset presses. Our customers can rely on manroland web systems GmbH as a reliable, powerful business partner. Also they can trust that manroland will continue to bring forward the industrial printing industry with products and innovations.

‘We don't just build large-format commercial and newspaper printing presses,’ Kuisle added. ‘Our customers can profit from a comprehensive performance spectrum of new presses and a holistic consulting, service, and retrofit offer, up to process-relevant consumable components.’
