Skymark unveils ‘Million Bags 4 Life’ concept
Skymark, specialists in cast and blown film extrusion, flexographic printing, conversion, slitting, adhesive lamination, pouch and bag making, has unveiled – as part of its on-going ‘Environmentally Sustainable Packaging’ program – ‘The Million Bags 4 Life concept: http://www.millionbags4life.com
Encouraging consumers to reuse bags is the way forward, however, re-useable bags cost money and customers need encouragement to change attitudes. This is why Skymark has decided to giveaway its ‘Million Bags 4 Life’ shopping bags to the consumer free of charge. Designed for long life usage, the Bag 4 Life aims to change the habit of the consumer towards reuse, which in turn will reduce the number of bags that litter the environment or go to a landfill site.
As a manufacturer of flexible packaging solutions for a wide range of market segments, Skymark, as indeed many of its customers, recognizes that packaging is an inherent part of our lifestyle, but at the same time understands the importance of protecting and working in harmony with the environment. The ‘Million Bags 4 Life’ concept provides an opportunity for like-minded businesses to place an advert on the bag via http://www.millionbags4life.com and to promote their company as one that supports the reduction of plastic waste. Generated revenue will be invested on ‘Green’ projects, such as increasing recovery, reclaim, recycling capabilities, as well as for energy and waste reduction projects, and the development of more environmentally friendly packaging concepts.
Skymark’s Daniel Richards says that charities will also benefit from the Million Bags 4 Life advertising sponsorship, as a proportion of any profits generated will be shared amongst selected charities.
