Sleever gives Icelandic Glacial a clear answer
Sleever International, the global provider of sleeving solutions, has produced premium packaging for the new mineral water brand Icelandic Glacial, which made its world premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, in square 50cl and 1 liter bottles with a striking relief design.
‘We’ve used a new film formulation to provide Icelandic Glacial with labeling which conveys the high purity of their product,’ said Eric Masson, Sleever International’s European sales director. ‘The new film, SI-OPS / TH 050, produces the very high clarity needed for Icelandic Glacial’s exciting labeling.’
The clear sleeve on a clear bottle emphasizes the purity of Icelandic Glacial water as well as giving them a unique design. ‘A large part of the design is actually on the reverse of the sleeve,’ said Masson. ‘You see it through the bottle and get a play of light with the water which makes for an attractive and striking effect. The translucent sleeve offered by Sleever International’s technology was a vital part of making this work.
‘The new material minimizes the “smile” effect, as the shape of the bottle makes it an essential technical requirement to preserve the general appearance of the Icelandic packaging.’
Sleever’s innovative solution goes beyond the sleeving material. ‘The Icelandic Glacial logo is in a striking metallic silver, which called for a new technical varnish which closely imitates the appearance of foil blocking,’ continued Masson. ‘We were able to provide them with a metallized silver varnish which does just that.’
