Steinhauser installs Premius digital inspection and defect detection system

Steinhauser, Inc, a hundred-year-old family owned printing and converting company that serves the greater Cincinnati area, has installed a Premius Digital 3 Chip print process management system from BST Pro Mark.

Founded in 1905, Steinhauser produces a variety of products on both sheet and web presses, which includes direct mail, specialty self mailers, in-mold and pressure sensitive labels.

The Premius system has been installed on a 16” Comco ProGlide MSP UV flexo web press that manufactures pressure sensitive labels used on cosmetic, health and beauty products.

According to Rod Baehner, plant manager, ‘Steinhauser's commitment to customer satisfaction has been a key reason the company has grown and prospered for a hundred years. The BST system gives us process management on press that allows us to produce the demanding level of quality expected by our customers on a daily basis.’

In addition to full visual capabilities, the Premius system installed at Steinhauser has automatic defect detection, in-line color monitoring and in-line bar code verification, using a digital three chip camera.

A spokesman for the company said: ‘The company evaluated the different systems on the market and found Premius to be a technically superior system. Steinhauser also carefully considered after the sale service and technical support, and felt that the system provided by BST Pro Mark is also substantially better than competitors.’
