Stork Prints announces successful uptake of RotaPlate screen
Stork Prints’ non-woven reusable nickel RotaPlate screen, for non-Stork systems, is proving extremely popular since its launch one year ago, with over 50 label converters across Europe and North America now regularly using the product.
‘We are delighted with the enthusiastic uptake of RotaPlate since its launch,’ commented Raymond Wiggers, commercial manager of Stork Prints. ‘Above all, customers are delighted with the cost-saving benefits that the screen brings, primarily thanks to its sturdiness. Customers are finding they do not need an extra screen on standby. Thanks to its excellent handling properties, at the pre-press stage, some customers are being able to use the screen for up to five times longer than their stainless steel equivalent.’
Other benefits cited by customers included excellent resistance to impurities on the web, no loss of performance at speeds of over 50 meters per minute, and the clear contrast during image exposure thanks to the screen’s green emulsion.
A key reason for the screen’s strength is its electroformed nickel hexagonal-holed formation, whereby the material is fused into a single piece. Mr Wiggers added: ‘The successful start of RotaPlate in the last year underscores our belief that the nickel-format mesh is the standard for high performance rotary screen printing. Thanks to the uptake of RotaPlate in the first year, we are now ready to extend the roll-out the screen across the world, with immediate effect.’
