A4 Labels renews cricket sponsorship

Sussex label manufacturer links runs scored to ocean plastic removal through the Seven Clean Seas partnership.

A4 Labels has renewed its sponsorship of Portslade Cricket Club for the 2026 season, continuing an initiative that funds ocean plastic removal based on runs scored.

The Fishersgate-based label manufacturer will work with environmental charity Seven Clean Seas to remove 1kg of ocean plastic for every 20 runs scored by the club. The 2025 season resulted in 409kg of plastic removed, equivalent to 2,621 cricket balls, with 4,396 meters of coastline cleaned and 62 hours of fair-wage employment funded for cleanup crews.

'We wanted to bring something different to a traditional sponsorship. Supporting Portslade Cricket Club meant we could back a fantastic local team while making a measurable difference to our oceans. Every boundary hit took us one step closer to a cleaner planet,' stated Charlie Hawker, managing director of A4 Labels.

A4 Labels has collected over 2.25 tons of plastic in total since January 2025 through its environmental programs. The company donates 1 percent of all sales to Seven Clean Seas as part of its Eco-Pledge initiative.

'This is one of the most creative partnerships we've launched to date. To create real change, sustainability needs to be embedded in everything we do, and I can't think of a better way to do this than through the love of sport,' commented Oli from Seven Clean Seas.
