US Chamber anti-counterfeiting task force recruit coordinators
Authentix, the global leader in authentication solutions, has announced that Authentix president and CEO, David Moxam, has been asked to serve as co-coordinator of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Coalition Against Counterfeiting and Piracy’s (CACP) Technology Task Force (TTF) along with Ed Dietrich, Americas director of Reconnaissance International. The CACP is composed of over 100 trade associations and companies working to encourage greater government/private sector coordination and to educate lawmakers and the public about the dangers of counterfeiting and the negative impact it has on the economy.
The TTF will study how businesses can best use authentication and tracking technologies as elements of their anti-counterfeiting strategies. The TTF will also ensure that CACP members impacted by counterfeiting will have access to the latest anti-counterfeiting information and best practices in the field.
‘David Moxam will provide valuable leadership for the CACP Technology Task Force,’ said Paul Fox, chairman of CACP. ‘His range of experience with many industries that are fighting counterfeiting and diversion will help the technology task force provide relevant, useful information to the wide variety of businesses who are CACP members.’
‘Through the CACP, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is bringing critical focus and attention to the effect that counterfeiting is having on American industry,’ said Ed Dietrich. ‘David and I are both firm believers in the value of technology as an element of anti-counterfeiting strategy and this is a great opportunity to help US companies increase their success against the pirates.’
As president and CEO of Authentix, Moxam has been a leading voice in the authentication industry. He is an active speaker and has appeared in numerous industry publications and television programs. He is also a 15-year veteran of the information technology industry including the successful turnaround of Starpoint Solutions - a private, Goldman Sachs-backed technical consulting firm that delivers complex digital products for the financial services industry and 10 years as a senior executive with $21 billion global professional services firm EDS. In June 2004, Mr. Moxam was appointed to the board of directors of the US Chamber of Commerce.
Ed Dietrich has had a 20-year plus career in the authentication industry. His background includes senior management positions in sales, marketing and operating management with leading authentication companies including: Flex Products division of JDSU, Optical Security Industries (OpSec) and American Bank Note Holographics. During his career, he has developed authentication solutions for leading global customers in areas including currency and traveler’s cheques, identification documents, licensed products and pharmaceuticals. At Reconnaissance International, he manages the group’s American operations and consulting practice.
