AdPhos AG, one of the world’s leading suppliers of accelerated drying systems and owner of Eltosch, has announced the UK launch of its new UV PowerCube for inkjet applications.

The company said in a statement: ‘PowerCube provides all the advantages of UV curing in one small, easy to use system: better print quality than water based inks, improved print quality particularly on difficult substrates such as plastics; weather proof printing for outside applications and the elimination of solvent from the work place.

‘For the inkjet market, the compact, lightweight PowerCube can be mounted on the ink jet carriage, either side of the DOD (drop on demand) ink jet engine. The high power option with on/off switching at the end of each transverse generates a full width cure, whilst the lower powers can be used to create pinning of the ink, so the next dot jetted sits on a partially cured dot providing a good key, with the final cure provided by an AdPhos wide cure system up to and beyond 2 meters in width.

At only 60x60x60mm, with small diameter air ducting also carrying the energy cable, the PowerCube is compact, lightweight and easily installed. The system’s high power UV irradiation, equivalent to 360 watts/cm, is infinitely variable down to very low power levels and its reflector design allows for stacking to produce wider cure widths.’

David Pelling, director and general manager of AdPhos UK Ltd, commented: ‘We’ve used our experience in web and sheet printing applications to design an adaptable product for both wide format and in-line mailer inkjet applications. PowerCube really does advance the application of UV technology in the inkjet market.’
