AVT opens EMEA demo center

Belgium facility supports ambitious growth plans for print inspection specialist.

Print inspection specialist AVT (Advanced Vision Technology) has opened a new EMEA-focused facility in Belgium to support the company's growth plans across the region.

Strategically located in Aalst, near Brussels, the facility features a demonstration center where customers can test their own work on AVT print inspection systems.

An AVT Helios 100 percent print inspection system installed on a rewinder highlights the instantaneous identification of defects on printed labels and narrow web packaging, while an AVT Argus system for inspecting flexible packaging demonstrates the combined capability of 100 percent inspection of webs at high speeds and visual inspection of targeted areas of interest at high optical resolution.

Dror Danai, who was recently appointed as AVT president for EMEA and APAC, noted: 'The opening of this new facility is a landmark moment and demonstrates the value customers place in our brand-new EMEA hub. When we returned to being an independent, standalone business in spring 2025, we said we wanted to build on our more than 30 years at the forefront of in-line and 100 percent inspection, returning to our roots and being fully dedicated to driving innovation and excellence in print inspection technology.

‘Just a few short months later, we have opened the doors to our new EMEA facility, ensuring our customers can now see up close the speed, accuracy and performance of our range without having the expense, inconvenience and environmental impact of traveling halfway around the world to do so.'

Having officially opened in October, the new AVT Aalst location has already welcomed several visitors and prospective customers to conduct print inspection tests. Danai explained that the new site’s popularity among customers is a testament to the company's commitment to supporting label and packaging printers by delivering reliable systems they can trust to perform day in and day out.

This commitment is further underlined by additional AVT investment in the people needed to provide dedicated support in markets throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa, its effort to ramp up response times to customer support and service requests in the region and how it is working to substantially and sustainably strengthen its presence in numerous markets.

Danai added: 'Our objective is to increase customer satisfaction. To ensure this, we are making sure we have the right people in the right place. Since Labelexpo Europe 2025, for example, we have increased our engineer headcount by almost 50 percent and are adding more. We are working to reduce the time it takes to get an engineer on-site for most service calls to within 48 hours. It will not matter whether you are located in France or Italy, England or throughout Africa. At the same time, our remote response times are now under an hour and all our calls are handled by a highly talented bilingual team that can support customers no matter where they are calling from, so that we can start reaching a resolution quickly.'

AVT supports its engineers with an inventory center at Brussels Airport, enabling the quick dispatch of regularly required spare parts to a customer's site, often within 24 hours. This helps AVT engineers to implement fixes and resolve machinery challenges without delay.

'This is very important and complements our customer-first mentality,' Danai concluded. 'Our aim is to make sure every customer receives the same level of service from installation to ongoing support, regardless of their location or need. Our agility and flexibility as a standalone business truly sets us apart as a leading provider of print inspection. The investments we have already made in EMEA shows this. Our future plans, both in the region and further afield, will reinforce our mission to redefine inspection around the world as essential to reliably delivering the highest possible print quality ensuring product integrity.'
