Hengze named CGS partner
Label printer recognized as CGS ORIS benchmark user and strategic partner.
Hengze has been named CGS ORIS Label Industry Benchmark User & Strategic Partner after deploying the CGS FlexPack label proofing system and the CGS Press Matcher digital print color management system alongside two Durst digital inkjet label presses installed in 2026.
The two CGS systems established standard workflows spanning screen proofing, digital proofing and production color consistency, replacing the traditional approach of running test proofs directly on flexo and digital presses. Pre-press workflows have been streamlined, which reduces customer proofing times and material costs and has improved end-to-end operational efficiency.
'Our business is navigating a critical transition where conventional and digital printing converge. The deployment of CGS color management technology delivers vital technical support for Hengze's process integration and quality improvement. The new systems achieve precise color matching between proofing and production, as well as between digital printing and traditional flexography. This not only shortens proofing times but also resolves conversion challenges between digital and conventional print processes, greatly enhancing our flexible manufacturing capacity and market responsiveness,' said Li Xiaocheng, chairman of Hengze.
Li said the full rollout was completed within three months, and credited CGS's technical expertise and the service provided by Shanghai Haobo, CGS's agent in China.
'Hengze operates state-of-the-art label production equipment and employs a highly skilled, responsive team. Close cooperation and timely feedback throughout the project ensured rapid deployment and stable system operation. I am pleased to see the system working effectively, helping Hengze stabilize print quality, boost operational efficiency and cut material waste and labor costs,' noted Bernd Ruckert, CEO of CGS ORIS.
After the certification ceremony, the three parties discussed industry trends and the adoption of new technologies. 'China is one of the most dynamic markets in the world. The intense competitive pressure and the increasing demands of international brands make automation, digitalization and AI-driven color management key success factors for the future,' added Ruckert.
The attendees agreed that AI should enhance the capabilities of the printing expert rather than replace them, with the future of color management lying in combining human experience, precise measurement data and artificial intelligence. Hengze is already applying AI progressively to data analytics, workflow governance and scheduling, alongside upgrades connected to its existing ERP platform.
