Brigl & Bergmeister appoints new MD

Brigl & Bergmeister has named the group’s owner, Ahmad Porkar, as its new managing director following the departure of Martin Ruopp.

Brigl & Bergmeister has named the group’s owner, Ahmad Porkar, as its new managing director following the departure of Martin Ruopp

Ruopp stepped down from the position of managing director as of January 31.

Porkar has been the owner of the group, which includes Brigl & Bergmeister and Papirnica Vevče, since 2011, and has now joined the management team of both companies as of February 1. He has assumed all of the duties previously performed by Ruopp.

In a statement, the group said: ‘The owner and employees of Brigl & Bergmeister and Papirnica Vevče acknowledge and greatly value the contribution Martin Ruopp has made over the past six years.

‘The efficiency of both plants improved significantly under his management and he played an important role in setting the course for the continued successful growth of the group, which today is one of the leading manufacturers of speciality paper for labels and flexible packaging.’
