With a view to expanding its business beyond pressure sensitive labels, Indonesian company PT Primasindo has ordered a Comco press for its production facility in Jakarta, where it will join three Mark Andy flexo label lines, all installed since 2002.

According to company owner Alamsjah Sudjana, who established the business with his wife in 1996, the Comco was chosen ‘because it represented a natural progression in technology and maintained the strong working partnership we have built up with Mark Andy and its local distributor, Rieckermann’.

The new servo driven Comco flexo line is fitted with a GEW chilled roll UV system and will enable Primasindo to build on its existing self adhesive label business in the electronics, household products, food, health and beauty care markets with new products across a variety of substrates, including shrink sleeves, in-mold labels, and laminated tube films.

Beginning life with flat bed letterpress machines, Primasindo moved into rotary flexo to meet the quality and price demands of its customers. According to Sudjana, Mark Andy was the preferred choice because of its reputation for reliability.

Primasindo employs 150 people in a 7,000 square meter factory, and gained ISO 9001 accreditation in 2005. When the Comco arrives, it will be installed in a new production unit that will see another 50 added to staff numbers, and annual output increased considerably from its present volume of 10 million sq m of material.
