Fujifilm donates more than €26,000 to WaterAid in six months
- Fujifilm is donating a percentage of the sales of every square metre of its Brillia HD PRO-T3 “processless” plates sold in Europe, Africa and the Middle East to international charity WaterAid

- €26,000 raised in six months puts Fujifilm within reach of 12-month target of €30,000

Fujifilm Europe raised a further €16,077 in the second quarter of its 12 month initiative to support WaterAid, the international charity dedicated to improving access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene in the world’s poorest countries, bringing the overall total so far to €26,757.

As part of an initiative that began in May 2012, Fujifilm is donating a percentage of the sales of every square metre of its Brillia HD PRO-T3 “processless” plates (pictured, top) sold in Europe, Africa and the Middle East to WaterAid.

The fact that water is not required in the production of these plates is what prompted Fujifilm to take part in the charity program.

Fujifilm said it was not anticipating such high figures so soon.

Mr Morimoto, senior vice president, Fujifilm Europe, said: ‘Back in May we set €30,000 as our 12-month target, so the fact that we’ve raised over €26,000 in half a year is an overwhelmingly positive result.

‘Fujifilm is highly committed to the environment and we are very pleased to be able to support WaterAid with the donations from our PRO-T3 sales.’

Susie Kennedy, corporate account manager for WaterAid, added: ‘The money raised means that we can continue to help transform the lives of some of the world’s poorest communities by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation through projects such as building toilet blocks at schools and installing water pumps in rural villages.

‘It’s a great initiative and we’re looking forward to the next six months.’
