Impressions of the show
Exhibitors are confirming deals and getting many leads to follow up on when they get back to their respective homes. RotoMetrics, for instance, sold its rotary tooling equipment to an Indian player on the show floor. Creed Engineers sold two Vinsak intermittent offset shaftless printing presses, Vinsak LIO. Other players such as Graftronics, Nilpeter and Prati sold presses to Indian players too.
Dominant printers and 65 members from the label manufacturing association of India (LMAI) have been busy throughout the day. With the roll out of 100 percent FDI in single brand retailing in India, the packaging machine manufacturers from around the world were showing increased interest in venturing into the country in the near future.
On the technology front, ETI, Nuova Gidue, Ritrama, Nanovis and A B Graphic, amongst others have been very impressive with their new innovations and efforts to be more environmentally sustainable. The M5 Excellence press from Nuova Gidue results in just 10 meters of waste and 60 seconds of time to change 8+8 print cylinders and 1+1 magnetic cylinder along with just a three days time required to train the operator on the machine.
The industry is making various efforts to reduce their carbon footprint by introducing innovative technologies to reduce waste. Linerless labels are also creating quite a buzz at the show.
