Etilisa purchases eighth ABG Digicon
Spanish label converter Etilisa has installed its eighth Digicon finishing system from A B Graphic International (ABG).
The latest installation will increase Etilisa's capacity for larger premium-label orders after it moves to a new production facility.
The La Rioja-based company has worked with ABG since its foundation in 2010 and operates a mix of Digicon Series 2 and Series 3 machines configured for wine label production.
The latest investment follows Etilisa's relocation to a 5,500sqm facility in late 2025. Officially opened in 2026, the site provides space for additional finishing equipment, increased capacity and an expanded specialist team.
The new Digicon entered production in September and features a one-meter-diameter unwind, corona treatment, web guiding, a 50-tonne Big Foot hot foil and embossing unit, flexographic printing, high-speed flatbed screen printing, lamination and die-cutting with Gap Master.
With a 430mm web width and 420mm finishing width, the system enables Etilisa to process more labels across the web, improving efficiency on higher-volume orders. The installation has also created three specialist finishing operator roles.
Diego Castillo, managing director of Etilisa, said: 'With this investment, we want to meet demand from our existing customers for larger orders at highly competitive prices, while guaranteeing the same quality and, above all, the same service. We will also be offering this service to prospective customers.'
Local sales and service support is provided by ABG's Spanish team, led by director Sergi Auset.
Matt Burton, global sales director at ABG, said: 'Etilisa has worked with ABG since opening its doors in 2010, and it is great to see how the business has grown. With eight Digicons and a substantial new facility, the team has made a clear commitment to premium label production.'
He added: 'This latest investment gives them the capacity to take on larger orders while retaining the finishing quality their customers expect.'
