Industrial lamp manufacturer Victory has acquired fellow UK company Blue UV, as it seeks to confirm its place as a global manufacturer of UV lamps for the print industry.

Victory Lighting is based in Hemel Hempstead, UK, and manufactures UV and infrared lamps for a variety of industrial heating and curing applications, as well as infrared ‘people-heaters’. Wokingham-based Blue UV was formed in 2002 to supply UV lamps to the printing and photochemical industries.

With both UK and Far East production facilities, Victory said it can respond quickly to customers’ requirements, wherever they are located, as company managing director Alan Penman explained: ‘We’ve established a strong reputation in the UV lamp market and with manufacturing in the UK as well as the Far East, and we are building on that. It means our print customers, anywhere in the world, can expect a much faster response, especially with urgent orders. Nobody wants machines lying idle, waiting for replacement parts.’

Mike Piercy, one of Blue UV’s founders, added: ‘Victory’s international sales and marketing resources, combined with our technical facilities, will mean the printing industry is now served by a business that can respond quickly with high quality products.’
