DuPont Cyrel earns Esko Quartz certification

DuPont Cyrel Flexographic Solutions has achieved Esko Quartz certification for three of its flexographic plate products, Cyrel Easy ESXR, Cyrel EasyEPR2 and Cyrel Fast Easy EFXR, with the latter becoming the first thermally processable flexographic plate certified for the Esko Quartz ecosystem.

The certifications, developed under the DuPont and Esko Better Together initiative, validate optimized combinations of plate materials, imaging technologies and workflows using Esko's CDI Quartz imaging, XPS Crystal exposure and Quartz screening technology.

The Cyrel Easy ESXR targets high-quality flexible packaging and demanding process print applications, the Cyrel Easy EPR2 covers flexible packaging and label applications, and the Cyrel Fast Easy EFXR combines DuPont Easy technology with thermal processing, eliminating solvents during plate production and reducing VOC emissions. The Fast thermal workflow was recently certified by GreenCircle Certified as delivering 20 percent less energy consumption.

'Cyrel FAST thermal processing eliminates the need for solvents during plate processing, helping converters and trade shops reduce VOC emissions while simplifying plate room operations,' said Michael Weber, technical service leader EMEA at DuPont Cyrel. 'With the addition of Quartz certification, customers no longer need to choose between advanced imaging performance and the operational advantages of thermal processing.'
