Van der Donck receives AWA award

Jurgen Van der Donck, sales and business development director for functional paper and films at Mondi, has been named the recipient of the 2026 AWA Annual Release Liner Industry Leadership Award, presented during the AWA Global Release Liner Summit 2026 dinner in Amsterdam.

Established in 2016, the award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the release liner industry through leadership, dedication, service and innovation.

'Jurgen has played a meaningful and influential role in shaping the release liner industry through leadership positions both within his organization and across the broader value chain,' said Corey Reardon, president and CEO of AWA Alexander Watson Associates. 'With innovation and sustainability as this year's summit theme, it is especially fitting to recognize someone who has championed innovation for decades and has been a strong advocate of critical sustainability initiatives.'

Reardon added that Van der Donck is widely regarded across the industry as a collaborative and fair business partner, consistently willing to work with colleagues and partners throughout the value chain.
