Böttcher Group is to acquire the plant, goodwill and equipment of Brissett Rollers, as the companies aim to integrate their two operations under one roof before the end of the year.

They were regarded until recently as the two dominant names in the Australasian printing industry's roller segmet.

Böttcher Australia managing director Mitch Mulligan (pictured) and his opposite number at Brissett Rollers, Terry Bissett, agree the merger has been driven by market consolidation and contraction.

By combining their resources, they contend local customers will be able to benefit from a seamless transition and continuity of supply. In the process they will keep the core of Brissett’s manufacturing team while also gaining Terry Brissett and his son, Craig.

Böttcher is a family-owned business known for its printing rollers and blankets while Brissett, with a has a history of Australia's largest manufacturer of printing rollers over the past 60 years, is seen as benefitting from the augmented resources of the enlarged facilities brought about by the merger.
