Acucote is a supplier of custom, specialty, high-value and unique pressure-sensitive products, focusing on silicone, adhesive coating and lamination. Acucote has five regional slitting and distribution plants around the US and currently employs 140 people, including a national sales network.

It has worked with Martin Automatic since 1998, through various hardware investments, including zero-speed splicers, rewinders and automatic roll changers. A total of eight Martin Automatic units are in operation at the Graham facility.

Its most recent investment has seen an existing turret winder on its silicone coating line replaced with the RMAP transfer rewinder. Whereas the previous turret had to stick out of the dryer section of the line, the low profile of the RMAP is installed underneath the dryer arch. In fact, creative engineering by Martin Automatic has allowed the RMAP to support the dryer. Finished rolls are transferred to a track supplied by Harmax Rollcon that moves the rolls laterally to an up-ender across the adjoining aisle for transport by forklift.
