Frimpeks is a global manufacturer of self-adhesive laminates, inks, wood coatings and digital media, and recently opened its UK plant in Saxmundham, Suffolk. Dave Casey has been appointed as the managing director of Frimpeks UK.

The UK plant extends the Frimpeks global portfolio and complements two hot melt coater and laminating lines at its Remscheid site in Germany. Between them, the two sites are capable of supplying the full range of self-adhesive laminates to the North European market and beyond. With a combined capacity of 120 million sq m a year, Frimpeks is targeting significant volumes, and the two plants will stock their own materials meaning that most products, be they hot melt or acrylic adhesive, will be available on a short lead-time.

‘The opening of the UK plant is a clear signal of intent from Frimpeks,’ said Casey. ‘For the UK and North Europe, locally produced product for the local markets will bring a focus and service level unsurpassed in the industry.

‘Combine this with the hot melt products produced at our sister plant in Germany and we ensure the full range of self-adhesive laminates are continually available to our North European customer base.’

Frimpeks’ operations now incorporate production facilities in the UK, Germany, USA, Russia and Turkey, and group managing director Emre Sayer said: ‘Frimpeks is a dynamic and fast paced business. We pride ourselves on the knowledge bank and skills of our people in order to provide added value to our customers day in, day out. Our new UK operation will provide more products, capacity and flexibility for European label converters.’
