German label printer makes first RotoControl investment with RSC installation

German label printer A. Mausshardt has installed a RotoControl RSC slitter rewinder, which is to be used for finishing blank and printed self-adhesive labels.

This is Mausshardt’s first investment in RotoControl technology

Founded in 1920 in Leonberg by Anna and Theodor Mausshardt, the former owners produced elaborate, embossed labels primarily for local cafés, pastry shops and butchers. Nowadays, Mausshardt offers a range of printed and blank self-adhesive labels in paper, foil and silk, specializing in tire, security and custom labels. Operating in a modern facility, Mausshardt manufactures labels in various designs and formats with flexographic and thermal transfer printing technologies. Mausshardt serves customers throughout Europe in smaller volumes of 1,000 pieces to larger print runs.

The RSC installed by Mausshardt features 100 percent servo motor control, a 340mm web width, slitting system for both shear or razor cartridges, ergonomic vacuum splice table for vertical inspection, automatic tension control, job memory for up to 500 jobs and a TubeScan digital strobe for advanced label inspection.

This is Mausshardt’s first investment in RotoControl technology.

Markus Klein, technical manager at Mausshardt, said: ‘We initially saw an impressive live demonstration of the RSC series slitter rewinder on the RotoControl stand at Labelexpo Europe last fall. On-site, the decision was made for RotoControl as it clearly has high standards for delivering quality product, a commitment also shared by the Mausshardt family for over 90 years.’
