Checkpoint Systems launches microvable RFID inlay
Chinook inlay is a rugged and reliable technology for reusable and microwaveable food packaging.

Checkpoint Systems has launched Chinook, an innovative RFID inlay designed for reusable food packaging, offering microwave safety and durability, while enhancing traceability across the supply chain.
The inlay stands out as a rugged, reliable technology with an innovative design that enables repeated use without compromising food safety or RFID functionality. Chinook is standards-compliant, delivering confidence to packaging manufacturers, food brands, and retailers operating in high-demand environments.
EECC official tests certified that the inlay’s performance remained stable, maintaining more than 50 percent of its maximum read range after 45 microwave cycles under the tests’ predetermined conditions.
EECC concluded that the Chinook tag is a robust and reliable transponder, making it ideal for applications that require frequent microwave exposure while ensuring consistent RFID performance.
Chinook is suited to a wide range of use cases, offering key benefits in sectors such as processed food production, where it enables full traceability throughout the product life cycle. In supermarkets and retail chains, its design is suitable for improving the management of fresh, pre-cooked and bulk products, optimising operational efficiency.
From a sustainability perspective, Chinook contributes to the circular economy by enabling multiple reuse cycles, reducing waste and improving packaging lifecycle efficiency. Its supply chain visibility supports full traceability from source to shelf. At the same time, its flexible format makes it suitable for various reusable packaging types, including plastic and glass, across fresh, frozen and prepared foods.
