Other achievements highlighted at the event included ongoing projects with Fidel Velázquez Technical University; the launch of the Mexico Label Awards, which will return in 2017; the participation of Mexican converters in the World Label Awards for the first time; the creation of standards for digital printing; numerous networking events; and partnerships with local and national government to bring additional benefits to members.

Also during the event, Flora Gonzaléz, Mexico label sector manager at HP Indigo, and José García, UPM Raflatac sales director and general manager, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, gave presentations about digital printing and self-adhesive material trends respectively.

‘The work of an association is to provide multi-faceted support,’ said Keren Becerra. ‘Not only concerning day-to-day actions which support our members, but also working on big-picture projects which can really make a difference for the future.’
