Anderson & Vreeland increases footprint with partnerships

Anderson & Vreeland has detailed a trio of distribution deals in the early stages of 2014 as it looks to increase its industry participation in North America.

These include becoming a reseller of the PACKZ Software native PDF editor and related products throughout all of North America, and distribution deals for Esko products throughout Canada and Xeikon ThermoFlexX line of digital imagers for flexographic platemaking.

The deal to offer Esko products extends the existing relationship between it and Anderson & Vreeland for the US. Anderson & Vreeland has sold and supported Esko products in the US since late 2008, and previously was a long-time reseller of Artwork Systems products.

Anderson & Vreeland will represent the entire Esko product line, including all integrated hardware and software solutions for packaging and labels, sign and display, commercial printing and professional publishing, in Canada.

In 2012, Anderson & Vreeland expanded its presence in Canada by establishing a direct sales force with distribution from sales/warehouses in key cities, including Montreal, Quebec and Mississauga, Ontario.

‘Extending our partnership with Esko gives our Canadian customers access to best-in-class products and services, plus technical support in the US and Canada from a single source,’ said Lee Zerfass, digital business manager for Anderson & Vreeland.

‘Anderson & Vreeland has been an established and successful Esko reseller in the US, and we have no doubt that they will become an important partner for us in Canada,’ added Larry Moore, Esko vice-president of partner programs in North America.

Rick Mix, Xeikon’s channel manager for ThermoFlexX solutions in North America, stated a similar belief after the digital printing specialist signed a distribution agreement with Anderson and Vreeland for its ThermoFlexX line of high-quality digital imagers for flexographic platemaking.

Mix said: ‘Anderson & Vreeland has the flexo expertise, technical support and respect of its customers to help us take advantage of this rapidly growing opportunity.’

The third recently announced deal concerns the PACKZ Software native PDF editor and related products, which are designed to make high-quality trapping and editing of packaging and labels accessible to small, medium and high production volume professionals. It provides a wide range of tools to simplify and improve packaging and label workflows. Interactive editing through the output stage remains in the native PDF format.

Anderson & Vreeland will work with Hybrid Software, a worldwide distribution partner for PACKZ, to install the native PDF editor at converters, printers and trade shops throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico.

Zerfass said: ‘When we saw a preview of PACKZ at Print 2013 and a more thorough demonstration during its official worldwide debut at Labelexpo [Europe 2013], we knew that it could be a very important tool for our customers.’

Michael Rottenborn, Hybrid Software president and CEO, said: ‘If you look at the products and companies that Anderson & Vreeland represents, it’s a who’s who of packaging supplies and equipment.

‘They are one of the premier providers to the flexo industry. They have great coverage and their support team has the technical expertise to help customers adopt a native PDF workflow for their flexo platemaking.’
