Avery Dennison opens interactive innovation center in The Netherlands

Avery Dennison has opened the I.Lab innovation center in Oegstgeest, The Netherlands, a state-of-the-art interactive technology and label facility.

I.Lab focuses on the connectivity of products and new innovations in RFID, expanding on Avery Dennison’s work in intelligent labels

With I.Lab, Avery Dennison has combined its technical capabilities and materials science expertise in UHF RFID to showcase applications within this space. I.Lab features live demonstrations and interactive experiences, intended to, ‘take visitors on a journey through the supply chain to the retail store environment’, as well as highlight customer case studies. I.Lab focuses on the connectivity of products and new innovations in RFID, expanding on Avery Dennison’s work in intelligent labels.

This allows for the creation of new technologies and is described as key for companies seeking greater efficiencies and more sustainable manufacturing processes, as Francisco Melo, vice president and general manager of global RFID at Avery Dennison, explained: ‘Avery Dennison has helped pioneer the integration of RFID technology in apparel, creating the largest and fastest-growing segment of RFID adoption, delivering more than 10 billion units, and expansion in the aviation, automotive, food and beauty industries.
