AVT joins REVO
AVT has joined the REVO line-up, a partnership of suppliers looking to ‘revolutionize’ flexography and allow it to compete in the market against digital printing.

This entails the digitalization of the flexo process and has the aim of it becoming ‘fully automated, predictable and independent from operator skills’.
The initial list of companies in the REVO cooperative covered consumables, pre-press and press technology, and included Nuova Gidue, UPM Raflatac, Adare, Esko, Flint Group, DuPont and Apex Group of Companies. AVT has added vision and inspection technologies to the REVO knowledge pool. A REVO Open House takes place June 10-12 in Florence, Italy.
AVT has been collaborating with select REVO partners over the past 12 months in pursuit of a ‘revolutionary new digital press set-up technology’, with AVT’s fully automatic make-ready pressure control system helping to achieve ‘excellent results while meeting the organization’s vision of advancing a “digital revolution” throughout the greater flexo industry’.
David Naisby, business development director of AVT, said: ‘Like all the REVO partners, AVT has a long history of innovation and it is an honor to join the REVO group. Helios II 100 percent inspection is the leading solution for total print quality control and, through the pioneering development of the new image-based make-ready pressure control, in cooperation with Nuova Gidue Digital Automation, we will be able to take a traditional, craft-based process and turn it into a consistent and repeatable digital function. This new level of automation will remove another variable from the press set up procedure and fully supports the goals of the REVO group.’
